Gift Horse

Album: Mountain of Youth
By Tarryn Feldman

This band makes me want to crack open a can of beer and hang out with the friends I grew up with. Gift Horse has a sophisticated grunge feel with a charming twist. Each track on their newest album "Mountain of Youth" has a different sound. The lead singer has a more gentle sound which compliments the harsher sleazy instrumental to create a great band. The song "Missionaries" reminds me of early Weezer and its very refreshing for a band to stay true to rock and not take it down the trendy emo sell-out path. Gift Horse is like the bad ass kid in high school that drives a classic old car, wears a leather jacket, and smokes cigarettes. Totally bad ass! I had the pleasure of watching Gift Horse live at The Basement in Nashville during Next Big Nashville. They bring a humble energy to the stage and its a dead give-a-way that they love to make music. I would see them again.

"Search and Destroy"
By Tarryn Feldman

Sanders Bohlke introduces beauty into the world with his gentle voice and quietly intense instrumentals. The song "Search and Destroy" is a serene lullaby that makes all the worries of the world evaporate before the chorus. His music will bring you back to life and force you to feel again.

The Delta Saints

Album: Bird called Angola
By Tarryn Feldman

The former Bellmont University students create an electric soul tone with a gritty howling sound and call themselves The Delta Saints. Their recently released album, "Bird Called Angola," has brought blues to a whole new level. The lead singer ads a deep southern fire in the song "Momma" while the sweet sounds of the electric harmonica ignite off the other instruments. This bands instrumentals enhance the lyrics with their in-sync energy. Having the blues never felt so good.

Natalie Prass

"Your Fool"
By Tarryn Feldman

The songbird, Natalie Prass, has the most emotionally powerful voice since Patsy Cline. The song "Your Fool" relates to anyone who has loved and lost. Her timeless voice, weeping electric guitar, and sad bass sounds truly tell a story we have all been through. Her vocals make heartache hurt a little less.

HEYPENNY

"CopCar"

By Tarryn Feldman

This three man band just really does it for me. To hear the song "Copcar" one time just is not enough. It will make you want to crank up the volume and dance around wherever you are. HEYPENNY'S retro 80's pop rock persona meshes oh so perfectly with their fast paced vocals and instrumental genius. From their music videos to the way they package their CD's, HEYPENNY creates their own category. Category of AWESOME!!!!!

The perfect soundtrack to life in general. The Kopecky Family Band consists of seven band members all residing in Nashville, Tennessee.
